Every year, millions of us move places to places to achieve our dreams, accomplish something bigger in our lives. And with each move, we leave or (atleast seemingly disconnect) from our homes or hometowns. We find solace – a place to be at – and make it feel like our own skin. In this journey, we forget where our home is or is it that we have no home of our own. This is quite a confusing thought yet a wonderful discovery of our own self!

These words are just a reflection of all those thoughts of all those people – like you and me – who are headed on this journey trying to find answers, to may be some of the toughest questions!

We Have No Home

Every step that I take ahead
there are noises that go up in my head
calling us decoys – you, me and all of us
they call us cheats, belittling all threads
they do not shy – calling us homeless

Yes, We have no home
We have no home of our own

it’s been long, since we left
the comforting corridors and the broody beds
yet we held close to our hearts –
the memories and the values intact
still they do not shy – calling us homeless

Yes, We have no home
We have no home of our own
dreams, they moved us place to place
we found people – many of ’em – , if not solace
undeterred and unwithered, we gathered strength
leaving a part of us in each one of ’em and some carrying away
but couldn’t stop them from calling us homeless – we sway

Yes, We have no home
We have no home of our own
No, we are not hit by what you call wanderlust
neither are we souls who are lost
we have come all the way to find ourselves
to realise – to survive, what it costs? – it’s not easy
yet we will stop them from calling us homeless

Yes, We may have no home
We have no home of our own but
In our own – We Are Our Home!
